Well, that’s a wrap on Thanksgiving 2018! For the first time in I don’t know how many years, we hosted ten people for Thanksgiving dinner at our home. It was a lot of work but it was nice to have everyone here. Plus, it gave me a chance to use some of my favorite serving pieces! We certainly missed a few that weren’t able to be here but nonetheless, it was a lovely evening. We enjoyed seasonal favorites along with treasured family recipes passed down for years and years. Today, I’m enjoying a lazy Black Friday and reflecting on all that I am thankful for in this beautiful life. We are indeed blessed and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Typically I am ready to start dragging out all the Christmas decor today but I’m just not ready to let go of Thanksgiving this year. Maybe it’s because I’m tired from playing hostess yesterday, tired from being on my feet all day preparing the food, tired of entertaining. But maybe it’s because of the warm, cozy thoughts of thankfulness occupying my mind today. Regardless, there’s always tomorrow and the day after that for getting our home ready for the next season. Today, I’m just going to relish in my thankfulness.
Here’s hoping you had a lovely Thanksgiving full of all your favorites. Cheers to this beautiful season!
